Riding and Thriving since 1962

WE GO WAY BACK

Bingham Cyclery was born in 1962 and since then, our purpose has always been to support Utah's  cycling communities. Our passion has only continued to grow and thrive over the past 60+ years.

-

We have experience rolling through just about every phase of cycling imaginable. Beginning with the Schwinn days of the 60’s and 70’s, then the BMX craze of the 80's carried through to the adrenaline rush and creation of mountain bikes in the 90’s.

1960's

Our roots started with the All-American Schwinn brand in Grandpa Bingham's Auto Parts store in Roy, UT and then moved into the first Schwinn concept store in its current location in Sunset, UT in 1969.

1970's

Schwinn created svelte and fast road bikes and Bingham Cyclery built a community of enthusiasts via their participation in creating the North Shore Cycling Club.

1980's

The eighties ushered in the BMX era. Bingham Cyclery built an authentic community around the budding sport. Pro athletes and young racers wore the BC logo. Our store manger even found himself riding in the movie 'Rad.'

Learn More about Bingham Cyclery's BMX History

1990's

Always on the cutting edge, Joel Bingham bought a custom Ritchey frame and built it out to withstand "off-road" riding. As mountain bikes began hitting the market, Bingham Cyclery embraced the new sport with as much passion as they had for the road and BMX categories.

2000's

As all cycling sports evolved through the first part of the twenty-first century, Bingham Cyclery, continue to grow the communities that it served through events, cycling teams and groups, high-quality bike repair sales and services and so much more.

2010's

With a focus on growing women's representation and participation in cycling, Bingham Cyclery promoted several innovative programs with the help of community members. WomenMTB began to offer clinics on and off the bike, as well as a social space for women to learn to ride, gain confidence, and gain friends to ride with. The MidWeek MTB Women's Mini Enduro, produced in coordination with WomenMTB and Bike Utah offered a festive and competitive racing environment.
