How Flex Works

Pay for bikes with your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account funds

Bingham Cyclery has partnered with Flex to let you use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds toward the purchase of an eligible bike — a great way to stretch your pre-tax dollars even further.

How it works:

  • Add a bike to your cart and proceed to checkout.
  • At checkout, select "Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA" as your payment method.
  • You'll complete a brief chat-based telehealth consultation to confirm eligibility (required for bikes, which need a Letter of Medical Necessity).
  • Enter your HSA/FSA debit card to complete your purchase — or use a regular credit card and Flex will email you an itemized receipt to submit for reimbursement yourself.

Tip: If you don't see the Flex payment option, make sure you're not logged into Shop Pay — try checking out as a guest, or use an incognito window.

  • HSA/FSA payment options apply to bikes only, not gear or accessories.

FAQs

What is an HSA or FSA?

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) let you set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for qualified health expenses. HSAs are linked to high-deductible health plans, and funds in these accounts roll over year after year. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) allow you to use pre-tax dollars for eligible health expenses. Unlike HSAs, FSAs are not tied to a specific health plan and often require you to use the funds within the calendar year. FSAs are typically provided by employers.

How do I use my HSA/FSA with Flex?

At checkout, select "Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA." Some products require a Letter of Medical Necessity. Complete a brief chat-based telehealth consultation to confirm eligibility if required. Enter your HSA/FSA card details and complete your purchase. If you don’t have your HSA/FSA card available, use a regular credit or debit card. Submit your Letter of Medical Necessity and itemized receipt (provided by Flex) to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement.

Which products are HSA/FSA eligible?

All products shown in the Flex Marketplace are HSA/FSA eligible, some may require a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN). Some brands may also offer additional eligible items on their website. When shopping directly on a site, look for HSA/FSA messaging on individual product pages. Flex accepts HSA/FSA cards, credit/debit cards, and split payments. Select Flex at checkout to pay for your purchase.
